KL, 24 JUN 2009: Hai, banyak betul kiriman e-mel yang Murai Batu terima daripada peminat yang ingin tahu bila album Juara Akademi Fantasia 7 (AF7), Hafiz, akan muncul. Semuanya nampak gaya tidak sabar-sabar lagi menunggu album itu selepas menikmati single pertama Hafiz, Masih Jelas ciptaan Aidit Alfian dan penulis lirik Ad Samad. Haaa, terlanjur sebut pasal Ad Samad tu, Murai Batu nak mencelah sikitlah bahawa Ad Samad akan bernikah dengan penyampai dan pelakon Dang Suria Zainordin, hujung Jun ini. Ia bukan lagi masih jelas malah sudah terlalu jelas mereka nak berkahwin sebab Ad Samad telah mengakui perkara itu kepada Murai Batu. Tahniahlah, kalau buat kenduri, jangan lupa panggil Hafiz nyanyi!

Baiklah, berbalik kita kepada cerita Hafiz sendiri, selain lagu Masih Jelas, Hafiz juga khabarnya sudah merakamkan 4 lagi lagu ciptaan beberapa komposer handalan seperti M Nasir dan Ajai untuk album itu.Murai Batu difahamkan, ia sebenarnya album yang istimewa kerana selain banyak lagu-lagu Hafiz dimuatkan, ia juga memuatkan lagu bonus single kesemua finalis AF7 iaitu lagu nyanyian Akim, Aril, Isma dan Yazid versi studio. Waa kira untunglah, beli album Hafiz dapat bonus lagu-lagu lain. Ia lebih menjimatkan atau ekonomik katakan.Bila nak dipasarkan?Oh ya, hampir terlupa pula Murai Batu. Semalam, abang saya telah mengadakan majlis doa selamat dan tepong tawar untuk anak sulong beliau, Azri Azmi yang akan melanjutkan pelajaran ke UiTM Pulau Pinang, mengambil jurusan Kejuruteraan Mekanikal.

Majlis dimulakan dengan sembahyang berjemaah marghrib, diikuti dengan bacaan Yassin, solat Isyak dan Marhaban.

Semuga Azri akan berjaya dan menjadi seorang Jurutera seperti yang dicita-citakan.

Michael Jackson, the 'King of Pop,' dies at age 50

LOS ANGELES - Michael Jackson, the sensationally gifted child star who rose to become the "King of Pop" and the biggest celebrity in the world only to fall from his throne in a freakish series of scandals, died Thursday. He was 50. Jackson died at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. Ed Winter, the assistant chief coroner for Los Angeles County, confirmed his office had been notified of the death and would handle the investigation.
The circumstances of Jackson's death were not immediately clear. Jackson was not breathing when Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to a call at his Los Angeles home about 12:30 p.m., Capt. Steve Ruda told the Los Angeles Times. The paramedics performed CPR and took him to the hospital, Ruda told the newspaper.
Jackson's death brought a tragic end to a long, bizarre, sometimes farcical decline from his peak in the 1980s, when he was popular music's premier all-around performer, a uniter of black and white music who shattered the race barrier on MTV, dominated the charts and dazzled even more on stage.
His 1982 album "Thriller" -- which included the blockbuster hits "Beat It," "Billie Jean" and "Thriller" -- is the best-selling album of all time, with an estimated 50 million copies sold worldwide.
The public first knew him in the late 1960s, when as a boy he was the precocious, spinning lead singer of the Jackson 5, the music group he formed with his four older brothers. Among their No. 1 hits were "I Want You Back," "ABC," and "I'll Be There."
He was perhaps the most exciting performer of his generation, known for his feverish, crotch-grabbing dance moves and his high-pitched voice punctuated with squeals and titters. His single sequined glove, tight, military-style jacket and aviator sunglasses were trademarks second only to his ever-changing, surgically altered appearance.
"For Michael to be taken away from us so suddenly at such a young age, I just don't have the words," said Quincy Jones, who produced "Thriller." "He was the consummate entertainer and his contributions and legacy will be felt upon the world forever. I've lost my little brother today, and part of my soul has gone with him."
Jackson ranked alongside Elvis Presley and the Beatles as the biggest pop sensations of all time. He united two of music's biggest names when he was briefly married to Presley's daughter, Lisa Marie, and Jackson's death immediately evoked that of Presley himself, who died at age 42 in 1977.
As years went by, Jackson became an increasingly freakish figure -- a middle-aged man-child weirdly out of touch with grown-up life. His skin became lighter, his nose narrower, and he spoke in a breathy, girlish voice. He surrounded himself with children at his Neverland ranch, often wore a germ mask while traveling and kept a pet chimpanzee named Bubbles as one of his closest companions.
"It seemed to me that his internal essence was at war with the norms of the world. It's as if he was trying to defy gravity," said Michael Levine, a Hollywood publicist who represented Jackson in the early 1990s. He called Jackson a "disciple of P.T. Barnum" and said the star appeared fragile at the time but was "much more cunning and shrewd about the industry than anyone knew."
Jackson caused a furor in 2002 when he playfully dangled his infant son, Prince Michael II, over a hotel balcony in Berlin while a throng of fans watched from below.
In 2005, he was cleared of charges he molested a 13-year-old cancer survivor at Neverland in 2003. He had been accused of plying the boy with alcohol and groping him, and of engaging in strange and inappropriate behavior with other children.
The case followed years of rumors about Jackson and young boys. In a TV documentary, he had acknowledged sharing his bed with children, a practice he described as sweet and not at all sexual.
Despite the acquittal, the lurid allegations that came out in court took a fearsome toll on his career and image, and he fell into serious financial trouble.
Jackson was preparing for what was to be his greatest comeback: He was scheduled for an unprecedented 50 shows at a London arena, with the first set for July 13. He was in rehearsals in Los Angeles for the concert, an extravaganza that was to capture the classic Jackson magic: showstopping dance moves, elaborate staging and throbbing dance beats.
Singer Dionne Warwick said: "Michael was a friend and undoubtedly one of the world's greatest entertainers that I fortunately had the pleasure of working with. ... We have lost an icon in our industry."
Hundreds of people gathered outside the hospital as word of his death spread. The emergency entrance at the UCLA Medical Center, which is near Jackson's rented home, was roped off with police tape.
"Ladies and gentlemen, Michael Jackson has just died," a woman boarding a Manhattan bus called out, shortly after the news was announced. Immediately many riders reached for their cell phones.
So many people wanted to verify the early reports of Jackson's death that the computers running Google's news section interpreted the fusillade of "Michael Jackson" requests as an automated attack for about half an hour Thursday evening.
In New York's Times Square, a low groan went up in the crowd when a screen flashed that Jackson had died, and people began relaying the news to friends by cell phone.
"No joke. King of Pop is no more. Wow," Michael Harris, 36, of New York City, read from a text message a friend sent to his telephone. "It's like when Kennedy was assassinated. I will always remember being in Times Square when Michael Jackson died."

KURSUS ASAS PENGENDALIAN MAKANAN

Lundu,Kursus Asas Pengendalian Makanan merupakan suatu yang diwajibkan kepada semua pengendali makanan. Kursus ini merupakan yang pertama sekali dianjurkan oleh pihak Majlis Daerah Lundu sejak sekian lama. Sambutan adalah menggalakkan daripada pengendali makanan dari Daerah Lundu dan Daerah Kecil Sematan dengan kehadiran seramai 83 orang peserta.

Di dalam kursus berkenaan, para peserta telah didedahkan dengan cara-cara yang betul semasa mengendalikan makanan dimana bukan sahaja keuntungan malahan sikap pengendali itu sendiri perlu dititikberatkan terutama sekali dari segi kebersihan diri, premis peniagaan termasuk layanan terhadap pelanggan.

Peserta juga didedahkan tentang risiko sekiranya amalan kebersihan ini diabaikan kerana akibatnya bukan sahaja akan dirasai oleh peniaga malahan pelanggan juga akan mengalami kesan yang sama. Sebagai contoh sekiranya berlaku keracunan makan dimana pelanggan mengalami cirit-birit, maka prestasi premis tersebut akan terjejas dan perniagaan akan menurun.

Peserta juga seharusnya berasa bertuah kerana telah diberi penerangan khusus mengenai Perkhidmatan Pelanggan oleh seorang panel yang di jemput khas dan pakar dalam perkara tersebut iaitu En.Jefrey Haji Bujang.

Pada dasarnya perjalanan Kursus Pengendalian Makanan untuk tahun 2009 berjalan dengan lancar dimana Majlis Penutupan Rasmi dan acara penyampaian sijil telah disempurnakan oleh En. Azmi Bin Hj. Bujang, Pegawai Daerah Lundu merangkap pengerusi Majlis Daerah Lundu.

Surat Dari Peminat Hafiz

~14 hours~

Nervous. Yes, had been feeling nervous from the moment my air ticket was booked. A lil voice told me: “Just forgo the ticket, stay in KL and get a good Thai massage on Sunday!”. Another lil voice whispered: “Just get on to the flight, you don't have to say hi or anything, just watch him from far.. then go have some local cuisine and lepak at some coffee shop, then get on your flight back to KL – easy!”. I was in dilemma. I was never a fanatic fan of any local celebrities.

But this time it is different. I got myself into 'trouble' by agreeing to watch AF Finale live at the stadium, after being persuaded by a friend. I thought by seeing that 19 year-old sing his heart out once would be enough, but no, I was totally wrong. His voice uninvitingly followed me home, stuck in my head and emerged in my day-dreams at the office. His debut single “masih jelas” masih jelas kedengaran in my ears.

I felt Saturday night came so quickly, I was still nervous but somehow I was physically prepared, all stuffs packed, my camera, passport etc. I suddenly had the guts to travel to this alien place, all by myself! (my friend had to cancel her flight). I left home very early in the morning as our flight was at 7.10 a.m.. Abang Badrul and some other fans were already there: Rose, Nano, Green, Mikolok, Ckin, Dnaz, Kak Ferror, Kak Aidid, Eleza, Lan etc. Hafiz was not there yet, so we waited patiently. I was thinking of checking in together with his team. But when Abang Bad called Hafiz again, he had just finished checking-in! So I rushed to the check-in counter and bumped into them on my way there. Abang Badrul introduced them to me: Pendos, Sue, Hafiz and Akim. That was the first time I laid my eyes on his ;)

When I got back to McDonalds, the rest of them were busy taking photos. Hafiz and Akim entertained everyone with big smiles and cheeky poses although it was only 5+ a.m.. They then had breakfast, and they borak2 with their fans. We told Hafiz “None of us known or have met each other in person, this is the first time. We only met through the blogs, we chat almost everyday, and today, when we finally gather for the first time, it feels like we have known each other for so long! And it is all because of you, Hafiz!” And he went like “Ye keeeee?? Thanks sangat 2 korang... Hafiz really appreciate it!”.

At around 6.45 am, the 4 of us (Hafiz, Sue, Aunty H and I) said goodbye to everyone as we had to adjourn to the departure hall. Luckily it was only 4 of us, otherwise, lil me would just shy away!

Aunty H is Hafiz's mother's elder sister who lives in Damansara. Aunty H and I only started our conversation while walking to the gate. She mentioned to me that if the flight is not full, lets just sit closer to Hafiz. (Hafiz and Sue had their seats pre-booked by Astro.) And of course, my heart jumped with joy! Hafiz and I talked for a bit while walking from the gate to the plane, about his intention to continue his studies which can only take place 1 year from now, the earliest. When we reached the plane, Hafiz, being a gentleman, said “Ladies first”, and I replied “Thank you!!” with a smile.

After taking-off, I quickly took my bags and moved to a seat next to Aunty H. Hafiz was already in deep sleep - in less than 10 minutes! He must be very very tired. Aunty H and I really talked and got on well. We happen to have similar working experiences and the 1 hour and 45 minutes passed by so fast! Before we touch down to the cultured land of Bumi Kenyalang, Aunty H offered me the best present I could never have imagined. “Kaka, please come with us if we have an extra seat in the MPV”. OMG OMG, am I actually hearing this for real? I could feel my eyes, my nose, my cheeks and my ears SMILE in whatever way they could! YEAYY!!

Hafiz woke up only after the landing announcement was made. He quickly filled up the swine flu form, took a deep breath and got himself ready for his Kuching/Sarawak fans. When we got down from the plane, Hafiz's cousin was already waiting for us. He took us out, but MAN, can you imagine how many pit stops Hafiz had to make for photo sessions with the airport staffs??? He is really a heartthrob to these Sarawakians, and I don't blame them for being excited. I wouldn't miss the opportunity if I were them!

Jimmy of Trek Selebriti and other Astro Crews were already waiting right in front of the gate for Mr. Champion. They started recording Trek Selebriti right away. Abang Har and Kak Wa were there too. It was the second time I met them, the first was during AF Finale at Stadium Putra. I was a bit worried kalau diorang tak ingat i, but to my surprise, my nick, Kaka, was not strange to them! *Phew!* Hafiz was then brought to meet YB Hamden & some state government officials in the VIP lounge.

I just followed Aunty H and we passed our documents to Kak Y for checking and clearance.
While all of us were walking away from the VIP lounge, I saw this massive crowd at the arrival hall. I just couldn't believe it! There were sooooo many of them, dari yang kecik hingga yang tua!

And the moment they saw Hafiz, they started screaming their lungs out, out loud! HAFIZ! HAFIZ! HAFIZ! HAFIZ! HAFIZ! HAFIZ! HAFIZ! HAFIZ! HAFIZ! Lights from cameras started flashing and they were very excited to finally get a glimpse of the AF contestant they voted for for 10 weeks! Aunty H, Sue and I who were initially queueing behind Hafiz decided to use the other door out, after realising that Hafiz and some other people in front of us could barely move. Sambutan yang sememangnya hangat, sangat hangat!! Well done fans of Hafiz!! We stood outside, a lil further from the crowd, listening to the announcements, kompang etc. And there was also bacaan doa kesyukuran for Hafiz. We couldn't see Hafiz from where we stood, as the big crowd had gathered around Hafiz, Jimmy and the rest.

Then, it was time to leave the airport. Aunty H asked me to join her in the MPV. I was extremely excited in the car, I'm going to Hafiz's house you all!! Hafiz's house!!
I thought our van left earlier but when we reached the house, Hafiz and Astro Crews were already there. They were preparing for Trek Selebriti recording at the house. As usual, they had interviews with all the family members and house tour. 1 to 2 hours later, the recording at home completed and all of us had lunch together. Lunch was prepared by Hafiz's family and that was my first Sarawakian meal! White rice, kuah dhal, ikan masin, cili padi, salad, ayam masak kicap (nope, bukan ayam masak coke hehe). It was yummy!

At the house, I was treated reaaaaally well. All his aunties and uncles interviewed me with all sorts of questions. They initially thought that I was working for Astro or any of the presses. Dengan malu2 kucingnya I said, “No lah, I am just a fan of Hafiz...”. And then they replied “And you came all the way from KL??” and I said “Yes... with my hubby's permission of course :)” “So how long are you gonna be here for” “I'm flying back to KL tonight..” “Tonight??? Nooo, you should stay, you should really stay, Hafiz's gonna perform tonight at STC and tomorrow we'll be having more Sarawakian meal for breakfast..” I felt sooo touched. Really touched. Almost all of Hafiz's family members persuaded me to stay, even Hafiz himself asked me to. I almost melted...
Hafiz spent about one hour with his family, signing autographs on their HafizFC shirts, taking pictures with them and entertained them with his “Masih Jelas”. His voice although sounded a lil tired, was undoubtedly AMAZING!. The whole family were really proud of his achievement, I could feel it in their hearts, looking through their eyes, especially Uncle Suip and Aunty Liza. They had big smiles on their faces all day long. One of Hafiz's cousins, F, wanted to send her friend home and she asked me to come along so that she can show me around. We went to Hafiz's school - St Joseph, passed by Aishah's house, Jasa's resident and Hardy Dahlia. Then we went back to Hafiz's house, continue taking photos with his family. Not long after that, Hafiz came back with Kak Wa, Abg Har and Ariana in a nice convertible Mercedes, courtesy of the Viking Racing Team.

Hafiz had a quick rest before getting ready to continue the recording of Trek Selebriti around Kuching. I started touring Hafiz's house and tried to brush up on my photography skills, which I admit is very very bad at the moment. After that, some of Hafiz's aunties, cousins and I just lepak at the house.

One of Hafiz's aunties (Kak Wa's mom) asked me “Which part of Hafiz do you like most?” I was startled! Alamak, what should I answer? *Apsal pulak la aunty ni tanya soalan2 camni* All eyes were on mine. *Blushed* His aunty said “Come on.. tell us! tell us!”. I went like “errr... his hair, errrr... and lips... erk”. And Aunty said “Yessss!!! His lips!!! You are right! My late father when he first saw Hafiz after his birth, told all of us that, Hafiz bila besar nanti akan pandai mengaji dan menyanyi!”. Hehehehehe... Hafiz pandai mengaji!! *wink wink to Hafiz's fans!*
At around 3.30 pm, Hafiz's cousin, N, drove me to Hardy Dahlia with her mom and her 2 handsome sons. Hardy Dahlia is a place where Hafiz's family members in Sarawak gathered every saturday night for 10 weeks to watch the weekly concerts. They used a projector to project the live concerts on the wall of a building next to Hardy Dahlia. N told me that the men in the family would normally watch EPL first then switched to AF concerts and then switched back to EPL again. Not long after that, Hafiz reached Hardy Dahlia with the rest of the Astro Crews. Trek Selebriti recording continued from the interview with the owners of Hardy Dahlia to the cake cutting ceremony. A lot of people came to Hardy Dahlia – it is normally close on Sundays, but on that day, it was open for a private function – Hafiz's High-tea!. We were served with mee goreng, kuay teow goreng, kek lapis sarawak, cream caramel (Hafiz's favourite), teh tarik and other local delicacies. Really nice comfort food! (You should make it a point to eat at Hardy Dahlia if you are in Kuching, Kaka tolong promo..). I was busy eating when suddenly I saw Superboy and the Astro Crews walking towards the van. I quickly snapped a few pictures. I didn't know that would be the last time I saw him before leaving for KL :(
I managed to finish my teh tarik (sedappp!!). Then Z and Baby brought me to STC, just to show the place where Hafiz was going to perform that night, before sending me off to the airport. Abg Har, Kak Wa and a few other cousins of Hafiz were already there making sure that the place's ready for the night function. Sound check was done.

Chairs and tables at the press room were properly arranged. I managed to take some photos inside and outside STC for remembrance, as I could not join them that night :(
My ONLY (for now) mee kolok experience was superb. Heard about it from Hafiz in the diaries, and got to eat it first time with Hafiz's family! It was at 6pm when Abg Har and Kak Wa suddenly came up with the idea of bringing me to a Mee Kolok place. I was soooooo happy!! Finally I get to taste Hafiz's favourite food. It took them a while to decide which place to bring me to since it was Sunday and a lot of good places for mee kolok were closed. Oh and I had the infamous teh c–peng too!! It was sooo good I could still taste it on my tongue! :)
Then, it was time for me to say goodbye to Abg Har, Kak Wa, E and Ariana. Diorang tak putus2 trying to convince me that I should just stay for a night in Kuching. Z and Baby did the same in the car from the Mee Kolok place to the airport.

They wanted to wait for me in the car outside the departure hall if I was not sure of my decision yet. Haha. I was really tempted to stay, seriously, I haven't spent enough time with the whole family. I still want to get to know more of these havoc, fun n loving people! Time just flies very fast when you are having a good time!!!
I finally said goodbye to Z n Baby... At the airport, I was expecting Indai, Mumi and Peace. Peace suddenly SMSed and told me that he was not be able to make it to the airport. Indai and Mumi were at the airport and I passed them a few things Abang Bad pesan pagi tadi. We talked and took photos and I apologised for not being able to meet them earlier.

After checking-in I walked to the gate. The airplane was not there yet. I wrote this SMS to Hafiz's family: “Salam all. Would like to say thanks to all of you. Aunty H, Kak Wa, Abg Har, F, N, Z and Baby and parents and aunties and uncles and cousins and other family members of Hafiz, for having me at the house n your functions today. Really2 appreciate the time spent n the talks n laughs n rides n food n drinks n mee kolok n everything. Hafiz is definitely blessed with not only outstanding talents and good personality n attributes but also with a very warm n close knitted family! I had one of the greatest 14 hours of my life. I'm typing this at the airport while waiting for the plane.. (pls god delay this plane for another 14 hours hehe), and yes i already am missing all of you. Really hope to see all of you again n ring me if you are in KL. Regards to Hafiz (didn't get to see goodbye to him) n to your other family members. Thanks for making my first trip to Kuching a memorable one. Will download the pics in CDs soon. Thanks and thanks again. Luv, RonaldoKaka.”

It was very difficult to leave Kuching. I was the last person to get on to the plane. I walked slowly and part of me just felt like calling Z to get me from the airport. I tried hard to put some senses into my head and finally I landed on a seat in the plane. I turned my phone into Airplane Mode, and tried scribbling an entry into my mobile diary. I started with a few lines and felt so sad and stopped. I took my camera and started looking at all the photos taken during the day. I smiled but my eyes were watery. I slept off the sad feeling. It was indeed one of the happiest 14 hours of my life....

SELAMAT HARI BAPA

Walaupun ayah telah kembali ke rahmatullah 5 tahun lalu, namun memori bersama ayah tidak pernah padam. Tanpa ayah, saya tidak akan berada di dalam tahap sekarang.

KEDONDONG CAN CURE CANCER

HIKMAH SUJUD

Sujud lega sistem pernafasan

Mungkin ramai di kalangan umat Islam tidak sedar mengenai pelbagai hikmah yang tersembunyi ketika sujud. Pada hal, kita perlu sedar bahawa tiada suatu pun ciptaan dan suruhan Allah s.w.t. yang sia-sia, malahansetiap ciptaan itu mempunyai kelebihan yang selalunya tidak terjangkau akal manusia.

Manusia melakukan sujud dalam dua bentuk, iaitu sujud fizikal seperti ketika bersolat dan sujud spiritual berbentuk ketaatan kepada perintah Allah s.w.t. dan menjauhi larangannya.

Ulama mengatakan sujud ketika solat adalah waktu manusia paling hampir dengan Allah s.w.t. dan mereka menggalakkan kita bersujud lebih lama.

Antara hikmah lain sujud adalah melegakan sistem pernafasan danmengembalikan kedudukan organ ke tempat asalnya.

Bernafas ketika sujud pula boleh:
- membetulkan kedudukan buah pinggang yang terkeluar sedikit dari tempatasalnya.
- membetulkan pundi peranakan yang jatuh.
- melegakan sakit hernia. (burut)
- mengurangkan sakit senggugut ketika haid.
- melegakan paru-paru daripada ketegangan.
- mengurangkan kesakitan bagi pesakit apendiks atau limpa.
- kedudukan sujud adalah paling baik untuk berehat dan mengimbangkan lingkungan bahagian belakang tubuh.
- meringankan bahagian pelvis.
- memberi dorongan supaya mudah tidur.
- menggerakkan otot bahu, dada, leher, perut serta punggung ketika akan sujud dan bangun daripada sujud.
- pergerakan otot itu menjadikan ototnya lebih kuat dan elastik,secara automatik memastikan kelicinan perjalanan darah yang baik.
- bagi wanita, pergerakan otot itu menjadikan buah dadanya lebih baik,mudah berfungsi untuk menyusukan bayi dan terhindar daripada sakit buah dada.
- mengurangkan kegemukan.
- pergerakan bahagian otot memudahkan wanita bersalin, organ peranakan mudah kembali ke tempat asal serta terhindar daripada sakit gelombang perut(convulsions).
- organ terpenting iaitu otak manusia menerima banyak bekalan darah dan oksigen.

Dari segi psikologi pula, sujud membuatkan kita merasa rendah diri di hadapan Yang Maha Pencipta sekaligus mengikis sifat sombong, riak, takbur dan sebagainya.

Dari segi perubatan, kesan sujud yang lama akan menambahkan kekuatan aliran darah ke otak yang boleh mengelakkan pening kepala dan migrain, menyegarkan otak serta menajamkan akal fikiran sekali gus menguatkanmentality seseorang.

Menurut kajian, terdapat beberapa urat saraf di dalam otak manusia yang tidak dimasuki darah sedangkan setiap inci otak manusia memerlukan darah yang cukup untuk berfungsi secara normal dan sempurna.

Pengalaman Melancong ke Kuching

BANDARAYA KUCHING, ibu negeri Sarawak ialah antara bandaraya paling bersih di dunia dan pernah memenangi Healthy Cities 2004 oleh WHO. Di mana-mana bandar kecil pun di Sarawak yang pernah saya kunjungi seperti Miri, Bintulu, Sri Aman, Sibu, Serian, Sarikei dan lain-lain lagi, memang tidak dinafikan Sarawak adalah negeri yang paling bersih di Malaysia. Malahan, jika dibandingkan dengan KL dan lain-lain bandar di Malaysia, Kuching adalah jauh lebih bersih.

Penerbangan dari KLIA ke KIA (Kuching International Airport) mengambil masa 1 jam 40 min dengan pesawat Boeing (tetapi 1 jam 20 min dengan pesawat Airbus MAS). Dari KIA ke pusat bandar (lebih kurang 11 km) tambang teksi adalah RM17.50 (teksi di Kuching adalah antara yang paling mahal di Malaysia - RM4 bagi 1km pertama).

Jika anda berkunjung ke Kuching, banyak tempat menarik yang boleh dilawati. Kuching Waterfront adalah antara tarikan utama yang terdapat di Kuching. Selain keindahan Sungai Sarawak, kita boleh menikmati pemandangan bot-bot kecil (dan boleh dinaiki dengan tambang yang sangat murah) di situ serta melihat aliran air sungai yang bersih (walaupun tidaklah begitu jernih airnya). Begitu juga dengan hasil-hasil kraf lain seperti hasil ukiran yang berbentuk budaya aninisma penduduk tempatan seperti kaum Dayak dan Iban juga banyak dijual di sini. KURSUS PENGENDALIAN MAKANAN & KHIDMAT PELANGGAN @ LUNDU

Semalam, saya telah mendapat jemputan dari MAJLIS DAERAH LUNDU untuk memberi kursus di pekan Lundu kira-kira 75 KM dari bandaraya Kuching.

Perjalanan kursus bermula dari jam 8.00 pagi hingga 5.30 petang. Seramai 60 orang peserta yang terdiri daripada kaum Melayu, Cina dan Iban menghadiri kursus tersebut. Kursus ini adalah wajib untuk semua pengendali makanan terutama yang menjalankan perniagaan gerai makan dan restoran.

Antara tajuk yang dibentangkan adalah :

4. Food Preparation & Storage

5. Work Ethics & Laws

6. Food Quality Control

7. Customer Service.

Di akhir kursus tersebut semua peserta diberikan sijil untuk membuktikan mereka telah lulus kursus tersebut dan layak untuk menjalankan perniagaan makanan.

KENTUT

1. Dari mana asal kentut?
Dari gas dalam usus. Gas dalam usus berasal dari udara yg kita telan, gas yang menerobos ke usus dari darah, gas dari reaksi kimia dan gas dari bakteria dalam perut.

2. Apa komposisi kentut?
Bervariasi. Makin banyak udara anda telan, makin banyak kadar nitrogen dalam kentut (oksigen dari udara diaserap oleh tubuh sebelum sampai di usus). Adanya bakteria serta reaksi kimia antara asam perut dan cairan usus menghasilkan karbon dioksida. Bakteria juga menghasilkan metana dan hidrogen. Propors masing-masing gas tergantung apa yang anda makan, berapa banyak udara tertelan, jenis bakteria dalam usus, berapa lama kita menahan kentut. Makin lama menahan kentut, makin besar proporsi nitrogen, kerana gas-gas lain terserap oleh darah melalui dinding usus. Orang yang makannya tergesa-gesa kadar oksigen dalam kentut lebih banyak kerana tubuhnya tidak sempat menyerap oksigen.

3. Kenapa kentut berbau busuk?
Bau kentut kerana kandungan hidrogen sulfida & merkaptan. Kedua bahan ini mengandung sulfur (belerang). Makin banyak kandungan sulfur dalam makanan anda, makin banyak sulfida & merkaptan diproduksi oleh bakteri dalam perut & makin busuklah kentut anda.. Telur & daging mempunyai peranan besar dalam memproduksi bau busuk kentut. Kacang-kacang berperanan dalam memproduksi volume kentut bukan dalam kebusukannya.

4. Kenapa kentut menimbulkan bunyi?
Kerana adanya vibrasi lubang `anus` saat kentut diproduksi. Kerasnya bunyi bergantung pada kecepatan gas.

5. Kenapa kentut yg busuk itu hangat & tidak berbunyi?
Salah satu sumber kentut adalah bakteria. Fermentasi bakteria & proses pencernaan memproduksi panas, hasil sampingannya adalah gas busuk. Ukuran gelembung gas lebih kecil dan hangat dengan produk metabolisme bakteria yg berbau busuk. Ini kemudiannya menjadi kentut, walau hanya kecil volumenya,tapi SBD (Silent But Deadly)

6. Berapa banyak kentut diproduksi sehari?
Rata-rata setengah liter sehari dalam 14 kali kentut.

7. Mengapa kentut keluar melalui lubang dubur?
Kerana density-nya lebih ringan, kenapa gas kentut tidak melakukan perjalanan ke atas? Tidak demikian. Gerak peristaltik usus mendorong isinya ke arah bawah. Tekanan di sekitar `anus` lebih rendah. Gerak peristaltik usus menjadikan ruang mempunyai tekanan, sehingga memaksa isi usus, termasuk gas-nya untuk bergerak ke kawasan yang bertekanan lebih rendah, iaitu sekitar `anus`. Dalam perjalanan ke arah `anus` gelembung-gelembung kecil bergabung jadi gelembung besar. Kalau tidak ada gerak peristaltik, gelembung gasakan menerobos ke atas lagi, tapi tidak terlalu jauh, kerana bentuk usus yg rumit & berbelit-belit.

8. Berapa waktu yang diperlukan oleh kentut untuk melakukan perjalanan ke hidung orang lain? Bergantung kepada kondisi udara, seperti kelembaban, suhu, kecepatan & arah angin, berat molekul gas kentut, jarak antara 'transmitter' dengan 'receiver'. Begitu meninggalkan sumbernya, gas kentut menyebar & konsentrasinya berkurang. Kalau kentut tidak dikesan dalam beberapa detik, bererti ianya mengalami pengcernaan di udara & hilang ditelan udara selama-lamanya. Kecuali kalau anda kentut di ruang sempit, seperti lift, kereta, konsentrasinya lebih banyak, sehingga baunya akan berlegar dalam waktu yang agak lama sampai akhirnya diserap dinding.

9. Apakah setiap orang kentut?
Sudah pasti, kalau masih hidup. Sesaat setelah meninggalpun orang masih boleh kentut.

10. Betulkah lelaki kentut lebih kerap daripada perempuan?
Tidak ada kaitannya dengan gender... Kalau benar, bererti perempuan menahan kentutnya, & apabla mahu kentut, banyak sekali jumlah yg dikeluarkan.

11. Saat apa biasanya orang kentut?
Pagi hari di toilet. yang disebut "morning thunder". Kalau resonansinya bagus, boleh didengar di seluruh penjuru rumah.

12.. Mengapa makan kekacang menyebabkan banyak kentut?
Kekacang mengandung zat gula yg tidak boleh dicerna tubuh. Gula tersebut (raffinose, stachiose, verbascose) jika sampai di usus, bakteria di usus berpesta & membuat banyak gas. Jagung, kubis, susu juga penyebab banyak kentut (bukan baunya!).

13. Selain makanan, apa lagi penyebab kentut?
Udara yang tertelan, makan terburu-buru, makan tanpa dikunyah, minum `soft drink`, naik pesawat udara (kerana tekanan udara lebih rendah, sehingga gas di dalam usus mengalami ekspansi & muncul sebagai kentut).

14. Apakah kentut sama dengan sendawa, tapi muncul dari lain lubang?
Tidak... sendawa muncul dari perut, komposisi kimianya lain dengan kentut. Sendawa mengandung udara lebih banyak, kentut mengandung gas yang diproduksi oleh bakteria lebih banyak.

15. Kemana perginya gas kentut kalau ditahan tidak dikeluarkan?
Bukan..tetapi diserap oleh darah, bukan hilang kerana bocor..Tapi bermigrasi ke bahagian atas menuju usus & pada gilirannya akan keluar juga.. Jadi bukan lenyap, tapi hanya mengalami penundaan.

16. Mungkinkah kentut terbakar?
Boleh saja. Kentut mengandung metana, hidrogen yg combustible (gas alam mengandung komponen ini juga). Kalau terbakar, nyala-nya berwarna biru kerana kandungan unsur hidrogen.

17. Bolehkah menyalakan mancis dengan kentut?
Jangan mengada-ada... konsistensinya lain.. Juga suhunya tidak cukup panas untuk memulakan pembakaran.

18. Mengapa kentut anjing & kucing lebih busuk?
Kerana anjing & kucing adalah karnivor (pemakan daging). Daging kaya dengan protein. Protein mengandung banyak sulfur, jadi bau kentut binatang ini lebih busuk. Lain dengan herbivor seperti kambing, kuda, gajah, yang memproduksi kentut lebih banyak, lebih lama, lebih kuat bunyinya, tapi relatif tidak berbau.

19. Betulkah pening kepala kalau mencium bau kentut 2-3 kali berturut-turut?
Kentut mengandung sedikit oksigen, mungkin sedikit saja anda mengalami pening kepala kalau mencium bau kentut terlalu banyak.

20. Apakah warna kentut?
Tidak berwarna.

21. Apakah kentut itu asid atau neutral?
Asid, kerana mengandung karbondioksisa (CO2) & hidrogen sulfida (H2S).

22. Apa yang terjadi kalau seseorang kentut di planet Venus?
Planet Venus sudah banyak mengandungi sulfur (belerang) di lapisan udaranya, jadi kentut di sana tidak ada kesannya.

Bananas..... eat the ripe ones!

The fully ripe banana produces a substance called TNF which has the ability to combat abnormal cells. As the banana ripens, it develops dark spots or patches on the skin. The more dark patches it has, the higher will be its immunity enhancement quality. Hence the Japanese love bananas for a good reason.

According to a Japanese scientific research, banana contains TNF which has anti-cancer properties. The degree of anti-cancer effect corresponds to the degree of ripeness of the fruit, ie the riper the banana, the better the anti-cancer quality.

In an animal experiment carried out by a professor in Tokyo University comparing the various health benefits of different fruits, using banana, grape, apple, water melon, pineapple, pear and persimmon, it was found that bananas gave the best results. It increased the number of white blood cells, enhanced the immunity of the body and produced anti-cancer substance TNF.

The recommendation is to eat 1 to 2 bananas a day to increase your body immunity to diseases like cold, flu and others. According to the Japanese professor, yellow skin bananas with dark spots on it are 8 times more effective in enhancing the property of white blood cells than the green skin version.

Cuti Panjang!!!!

Maaf kerana lebih 2 minggu saya menyepikan diri, iaitu sejak dari cuti Gawai lagi saya telah bercuti ke Sibu untuk bersama-sama dengan anak saya Daniel dan keluarga. Semasa bercuti tentu sekali saya tidak mahu privacy saya terganggu. Rasanya sepanjang cuti tu saya tak bukapun laptop ni. Relakkkkkk je kat rumah dan bermain dgn anak saya.

Balik aje dari Sibu, saya teramat sibuk menyediakan bahan2 untuk sesi ceramah saya sepanjang bulan Jun dan Julai nanti. Mulalah mengadap komputer semula! Apa2pun saya puas dengan percutian saya dan sekarang perjalanan hidup kembali normal....
